I was on a writing trip to Jakarta in 2014 for two months, to work on a very personal feature script that had its backdrop in Southeast Asia. During this time I had a chance to visit various places around the city. I saw some scenes in real life that left an impression in my mind. After completing the script I returned to Korea. After a year, I began researching on criminal activities in Southeast Asia and decided to write a crime genre story. It was my first time venturing into the crime genre so I studied the genre quite a bit. Another year later, I completed the script and copyrighted it in Korea. A few years forward, the script is now turned into a novel!
