Write. Every single day. Make the time sacred. Sometimes the hardest part of writing is facing that blank space in front of you. Once there's something there, you can go back and edit...but you can't edit white space.

Great question. I decided to write a book after getting laid of from my corporate job. As my plans evolved, I mapped out a road trip and expected to meet different people during my journey. I wanted to tell their stories--the goal was to write about relationships and human connection. Once I started writing, the book took on a life of its own. Rather than sparking ideas about the stories of others, the conversations I had inspired me to reflect and share some unapologetic truths about myself. While I was surprised and concerned at first, I decided to flow with where the energy was pulling me. The resulting book became a journey of self-reflection and life's learnings. Finding Life In Between became my catharsis through some major life "interruptions," and my hope is that it helps others move through some of their own transitions, too.

NARNIA! I would seek out Mr. Tumnus and ask him to take me to Cair Paravel. I would listen to the stories and learn the perspectives of the kings and queens and all of the beings in the land.
(Once, while traveling with friends in Wales, I discovered a beautiful wood-carved wardrobe in the upstairs bedroom. For a few moments I was certain that I could open the doors, climb inside and wander through the fur coats and trees to find my way to the lamp post.)
