There are a lot of mysteries/secrets in my career that could most definitely be a plot for a book. I'm actually considering writing one as we speak! Stay tuned!

The best thing about writing my memoir is the fact I get to share my stories with a larger audience. I hope my book will inspire young women to take the leap into an unusual, adventurous, challenging, but completely amazing career.

My memoir is my first foray into the publishing world. Although I wrote a lot, every single day, while in the FBI, I had never considered writing about my experiences, although I had written a list of stories I wanted to tell. After I retired, I decided I was going to make that leap and take a writing class to see if, number one, my stories would resonate. And, number two, would I have the skill to write them. I learned a lot along the way. So, my advice for aspiring writers is this, just don't think about it. Sit down and do it. Take a class. Write what you think you want to write and I promise you, you'll end up writing what you need to write.

I love reading stories about women who have had interesting and unusual adventures. I'm particularly interested in women from history who decided to take the leap from a "normal" life, to living a life that was unheard of during the era in which they lived. So, I'm doing research to seek out those "unsung female heroes" for my next book.

When I started telling stories about my time in the FBI, particularly my time spent overseas, I realized I had an audience who wanted to hear about the adventures of a female FBI agent. After giving a few presentations, I learned the audience was not just interested in my career, but why I, a female, would choose to work in what is, for the most part, a male-oriented organization.
