It's so easy to raise money for a nonprofit but not enough people do it. I see so much need out there and so few people actually doing something about it. I know people have the passion, and want to help, but not enough do. It's like they think it's too difficult or complicated. I want to help people realize that they can make a meaningful difference and feel great about doing it. That's what gave me the idea. And now with the pandemic, charities need help more than ever. Great timing!

Interesting question, that I really can't answer, as I'm always inspired. I see stories everywhere in my life. And I make sure my life is always interesting.

Write, the more you write the more you understand and hone your style.

I do it on my own terms. I don't have to depend on anyone else. I can do it whenever, and wherever I want. I can spend a bit or a lot of time on it. If I decide to change something, add something, or trash something, I do it. I love the freedom to be as creative as I want. If I want structure, I put it in. If I want a deadline I make one up and stick to it, or not. The freedom is invigorating and makes me love to write.

Whenever I feel that the words just aren't coming, I do my 1,000 word exercise. The first thing I see becomes the subject and I write 1,000 words on it. Whether it's the spacebar or a key on the keyboard, something on my desk, or my cat, I get to it. The rules (my rules I should say) is that the piece has to have a beginning, a middle and an end, and tell a story. I think it's now called Flash Fiction. It works. I try to look at any writing project as a series of 1,000 words, so my little exercise actually helps me break it all down into these chunks. So not only does my 1,000 word exercise help me through writer's block, it helps me plan my projects. All good!
