Nicole M. Wolverton Hi, Kerry! I have nothing on my calendar in Pittsburgh right now, but it's not out of the question! Keep an eye on the calendar on my website in case anything pops up--I'm willing to bet there's something scheduled for 2025. :)
Nicole M. Wolverton I rarely have it, which sounds bonkers. The way I combat it is to plot the bejeebus out of nearly everything I write. I find that if I have a good roadmap, I don't get lost.... or waylaid, detoured, etc. What I do deal with, which is sort of a complementary issue, is burn out. Sometimes I'm just not motivated to write. My brain hurts, or something is happening that's really bumming me out, or I'd rather bingewatch the Santa Clarita Diet for the 800th time... and in those cases, I just let myself take a break. It's a clear sign that I need to give my creative mind a rest and allow some zone-out time. Forced writing is often not very good writing.

If I'm on deadline, that's a bit of a different story--I'm disciplined enough to push through and get it done (I'm also pretty irritated by half-finished projects, which works to my advantage). But I do try not to get in a situation where I'm down to the wire, so to speak, because taking a break when I need it is so important.
Nicole M. Wolverton Thank you, thank you, Sonya! It's fun to know that my experience growing up a rural town (albeit WITHOUT a lake monster, real or otherwise) is coming in handy!! :)
