Being able to go write words that someone else will read is a big deal. Some view it as a burden, but for me, it's an honor. In the age of the internet, people have millions of reading choices at their fingertips, so if they choose to read something I write, that's a really cool thing and I have the opportunity to provide an escape for someone, or a mind vacation, or just a break. I love that.

Every few summers, I try to re-read as many Larry McMurtry books as possible. This feels like the perfect summer to re-read Lonesome Dove and Streets of Laredo.
