Hi Sabrina, I'm reading and loving your Carlsbad Village series. I live in Carlsbad. Are there really tons of lesbians here and is there any coffee shop like Vanessa's?

I don't know that there are "tons" of lesbians here in our town in real life. I mean, I know plenty, but I will admit to exaggerating the lesbian scene here for the purposes of my stories.

As for the coffee shop, that's another fiction, I'm afraid. Although, I modeled some elements of it after Vinaka Cafe in the Village Faire, which is one of my favorite spots.

Hi Is there a reading order for the Carlsbad books or is it more a pick any unread book in the series and enjoy kind of thing?

No particular order, as such!
Admittedly, you might find it easier to follow all of the different characters if you start with Book 1, "Nothing But a Fling," but that's not required, and plenty of readers have told me they started reading the series somewhere in the middle. :-)

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Sabrina Kane Writing is a sacrifice of time. You have to be willing to look at your day and say things like, "Oh, I have two hours free after lunch; I'll get some writing in." Or, "I have all of Saturday to myself; I'd better get a lot of writing done."
Writing means keeping the TV off. It means putting off the trip to the mall. It means happy hour is a glass of wine at home, alone, while you type away on your laptop.
Books don't write themselves. If you're not willing to sacrifice your free time to the cause, your book will never get finished.
