Simply put- I just stop writing until I miss it again. Writing should not be a chore, or job, or merely as assignment. If you are a writer, or bus driver, or doctor or whatever, I would hope that whatever you do is an extension of who you are. Just as one would take a break to rest and recharge in any of the aforementioned professions, the same, I believe goes for writers and any other creative vocation.

I feel like the best thing about being a writer and having the ability to communicate a part of yourself to this world. Whatever it may be, writing what you believe is valuable and noteworthy, matters. Regardless of what anyone else thinks, if you have a thought or idea to share, it means something. You mean something. And most times, anything that means something to you will eventually mean something to someone else too.

My advice for aspiring writers would be to KEEP GOING! Write what you love. Write what you are passionate about (not always one in the same), and write what you believe is important. Writers, write. Period. It's not about selling millions of books. If you are truly a writer, shouldn't it be about just doing you? :)

We will be coming out with the Affirm The Word Prayer Journal for Believers: Psalms, Proverbs and Letters very soon. It will also include our Executive Pen to inspire people to not only write down their prayers and notes on the scriptures included, but every righteous desire God has placed in their heart too!

I love God and His word. The bible teaches that we become transformed (into the highest expression of our true selves) when we renew our mind through the word (Romans 12:2). I write things that inspire "me" first, lol, because you can't give what you don't have. I also believe that God wants all of us to live enjoyable, happy lives. Writing is my contribution towards shedding light on that truth, and how we can actively participate in bringing about that objective despite the inevitable trials of life.

I compiled Affirm The Word during the middle of the pandemic in response to repeated requests for scripture and affirmation sets to help with anxiety, depression and fear. I had absolutely no intention on producing this book. However, while on a four-month leave to care for my daughter, I decided to sit down and organize the many scriptures and affirmations I'd used to grow in my spiritual walk with God over the years. This helped me to easily identify and share them with others quicker, and hence Affirm The Word was born.
