Kim Catanzarite The seeds for this book were planted back in 2006, when my husband and I traveled to Russia for the adoption of our daughter. Not only did we experience and observe the Russian culture and meet many Russian people, we literally became parents there, learning very quickly what it was like to be responsible for another (very small and unwieldy) human being.
Kim Catanzarite Having a creative outlet, seeing the world you imagine come to life, causing conflict and wreaking havoc, moving readers emotionally. I literally want to make readers cry—and laugh, too.
Kim Catanzarite This summer, I have a whole book bag's worth of fantasy that I want to read. That said, I am a mood reader, so we'll see what happens. I have a lengthy TBR with new titles joining weekly. Summer, however, seems like a good time to read fantasy.

+ Ruthless Vows by Rebecca Ross
+ Thorn Hedge by T. Kingfisher

Kim Catanzarite If you're experiencing writer's block, you're probably putting too much pressure on yourself. Take a week or so off where you don't write at all, even if you have a great idea (scribble it down on a notepad for later). Take a mandatory vacation from writing. Hopefully you'll miss it. The idea is come to a point where you're eager to write.
Kim Catanzarite I would travel to Edwardian-era England and play tennis with Lucy Honeychurch and her brother, Freddie. (A Room with a View E.M. Forster)
Kim Catanzarite My advice is to write a lot. You have to get through a lot of bad writing before the good stuff starts to happen.
Kim Catanzarite I am one of those writers who doesn't discuss what she's working on in detail until the book is finished, but I will say this: I am working on a new installment in the Jovian series. I can no longer call it a duology because the characters in this series keep begging me to write another book. While Svetlana's story was complete in The Jovian Duology, Evander has a lot more to say, and that's what I'm working on now. Updates to come!
Kim Catanzarite I'm an editor as well as a writer, so the busier I am editing other people's books, the more I look forward to working on my own book. Then, when I have time for my own writing, I are eager to use the time wisely.
