In Broken, I drew on my childhood. In my book, there is a picture frame that breaks because Grace throws a car across the room. As a child, I threw a ball across a room in our basement and broke a large decorative owl. I lied about it and blamed my brother.

When I write, I imagine a parent reading the words I am writing to their child. The best thing about writing is that I am able to be part of those foundational precious moments of a parent loving their child through my book. That is a huge motivation to me in developing the discipleship resources I create.
