I used to hate writing when I was younger. Despised it with every fiber of my being! That is until my tutor had me do a writing exercise where I had to write a poem about an object that described the thing without saying what it was.
Well, being the fantasy nerd I am, I chose to write about a sword being forged from the *sword's* perspective. It's my favorite poem that is lost to the sands of time.
After that, I couldn't stop writing. I wrote more poems. Did a little fanfiction (Lord of the Rings/Narnia crossover). Toyed around with ideas.
When I was 17, I set out to write an original book. Took another 13yrs before everything finally came together, and while not the book I had started working on, The City of Snow & Stars is set within the same world and will actually set off the events that will unfold over the course of the 12 books I have planned.

Aside from promoting my debut novel, The City of Snow & Stars, I'm working on outlining book two in the trilogy.

Figure out your writing process and then do it. MAKE time for your writing and get it on your calendar. After about 3-4 weeks of doing this consistently (even if it's only 1 or 2 days per week) your life will adjust to writing being an active part of it AND you'll see improvement in your writing.

I have a writing process that I fall back on. I know exactly how many words I can write per hour, how many words per chapter, and how many hours I need to complete 1 chapter. This has helped me stay focused even when I'm battling writer's block.

Middle-Earth and I would want to hang with the Hobbits for a while, then move my way east to visit Elrond. After that, chill with the Thrandy before moving to see the Dwarves at the Lonely Mountain. Once done, head south and see Lothlorien, Gondor, and then Rohan.
