Donnie Vakarian Hi, Dan! I really expected to have the sequel out by this time, but it's looking more like the first part of next year. Sorry you'll have to wait, but I'm hoping you'll find it worth the delay.
Donnie Vakarian Hi, Bo! I really wanted to have the sequel out by autumn, but it looks more like it will be the first part of next year. Thanks for your patience!
Donnie Vakarian I actually have several Spotify playlists with the working titles of my books. As I go about adding lots of acoustical, electronica, mood and world fusion titles, these become the sound tracks for each story. So, I go out and take long walks of two or three hours through the suburbs and parks of eastern Madrid, listening to the music and spinning new character attributes and filling in story lines. When I've amassed enough material, I take a ferry down to the Canary Islands or over to the Balearic Islands, rent a house and get cracking.
Donnie Vakarian The second book in my Montana Series, "Defending the Righteous."
Donnie Vakarian Right now, I'm working on Memoirs of Hadrian by Marguerite Yourcenar and Jules Verne's The Lighthouse at the End of the World. Yourcenar as Hadrian is remarkable describing the autumn of his life. The imagery of seeing your impending mortality akin to making out more and more detail of the coastline as you approach it from the sea touched me particularly. I put the Tailor of Panama back on my nightstand in light of LeCarré's recent passing, and I'm fishing for a copy of Slaughterhouse-Five. I know I could just download it, but I'm a hard-cover romantic.
