I'm a writer who was sabotaged for years by my own mind. If you have depression or anxiety get therapy, or talk to your doctor. For some people those conditions are chronic and interventions, like medicine, only help a little, if at all. But that little may be the small thing that is keeping you from finishing a book. The more healthy my mind became the easier it was to write. Also, it became easier to forgive myself when I didn't meet my deadlines.
