Edie Claire I stared down at the red liquid spreading across the sun-baked asphalt, wondering with a queer sort of detachment how I could escape from this place and this time, from my own mind and body. Something dramatic had to happen, it simply had to, because the human being before me was unquestionably dead, my hand had been at the wheel of the car that had crushed flesh and bone, and my eyes had been on my cell phone.
Edie Claire I would travel to the city of Solla Sollew, where they never have troubles, at least very few. And I would put myself on the other side of the key-slapping slippard, so that I could sleep on those colorful billows of cushiony soft pillows! -- With credit to my beloved Dr. Seuss. ;)
Edie Claire I traveled to South Central Alaska for our family vacation this summer, and was completely blown away by the beauty of it. When I started thinking about the plot of my next book - my mind immediately took me there, and the story began to unfold around the emotions I felt in that environment. Now I have the perfect excuse to travel more! ;)
Edie Claire I am working on a new "romantic women's fiction" entitled "Alaskan Dawn." It's about a woman's journey primarily, but with the romance as a central part of the larger story. When the book begins, the protagonist is four months into a surrogate pregnancy for her twin sister and her husband. I am really enjoying this one!
Edie Claire I was part of a very active church theater group, and I wrote both my plays to be performed by that group. They were such fun to perform and went over so well that I decided to submit them for publication, and I was delighted when both were picked up by Baker's Plays (now a part of Samuel French.) It's such a thrill now to see those plays being performed in far-flung places... I only wish I could go see one sometime!
