There is a local landmark that I thought would be an interesting setting to be used in the book. I built the story featuring Detective Sasha Frank and the other characters that make up the book with that landmark in mind.

I've been working the past several weeks on the third book in the Detective Sasha Frank Mystery series. Today I started focusing with my publisher on editing the second book in the series titled "Cold Consequences."

I find it a lot of fun to develop characters and their backstories, making them interesting or intriguing to best tell the story. For me, that is one of them.

In writing the first book in the series "Deliberate Duplicity" I didn't experience writer's block. In the second book, "Cold Consequences", several times I did, and I found that stepping away from the story and watching something mindless on television would clear my head.
