My father passed away when I was very young and I have no memories of him so I’ve always felt that he was a bit of a mystery. It could be a great plot for a book if people could pay a soothsayer or some such person and view their lost love ones at different points when they were alive. Almost like recreating memories that aren’t there. Another plot point would be if you could somehow watch memories on a screen from someone’s brain. It would be interesting to see a movie of what she remembers instead of just hearing a story. Tons of science fiction plots cold go with this theme I think.

It came to me in a dream awhile back and I’ve been holding on to it because I had other projects that needed to be finished first.

Most of my stories start off as a dream. Sometimes a sequence of dreams. I just get down the part I dreamt and the story sort of evolves from there as I write.

I actually have several things going on at the same time. Through My Eyes was sent off for editing. That novella is due out end of January, just in time for Valentine’s Day! A novel titled This Thing of Ours that I started previously is being read by my alpha readers so I can make adjustments before submitting it for editing. I’m hoping to get it published in the spring. I just started on a novel titled Trinity that I’m hoping to have out this summer.

Don’t wait for the perfect time or situation. Write for the love of it and you’ll be surprised what happens.

I love writing. When I don’t do it every day I feel lost. I also love that I get to be at home with my daughter during this difficult COVID time and still write.

Usually I call my mom and run through what I have so far and she throws out ideas. I either get an idea based off one of hers or use something she said. For example I wasn’t happy with where This Thing of Ours ended and she gave me an idea that I ended up using at both the beginning and ending. She also came up with the titles for most of my works. I love her excitement and enthusiasm for my work.
