What’s the best thing about being a writer?
Cloey Kinney the final product and the overreactions I send to my friends when I draft a particularly good scene. I'll send snippets with absolutely no context and they're always goods sports about sharing my reaction

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Cloey Kinney I dreamt it! It was about seventh grade and I dreamt up a book about (can't tell you...yet) and sat on it for about four years before it morphed into The King's Guard.

Cloey Kinney I'm drafting Court of Monsters, the second book in The King's Guard series

How do you deal with writer’s block?
Cloey Kinney Usually, I go on walks or drives. Something that stimulates my creative juices and introduces new scenery. Because let's face it. Nobody is writing their best if they're staring at a blank wall 24 hours a day.
