Thomas Avant The greatest mystery in my simple life is the perpetual quest for understanding and the struggle between choosing my own life and living the life that chose me.
Thomas Avant I have a large collection, from many genres, at home. I randomly select one or two after I've finished a book. I hope to read Mary Trump's book soon.
Thomas Avant I try to fight through if my thoughts are flowing. There are always days, or times, when your thoughts are not as clear and precise as others. I also take notes throughout the day if I have ideas for the book, so I won't forget when I sit down to write. Some of the best ideas come when we aren't working on our manuscript. Get the critical thoughts and messages in the manuscript. You can always rearrange or revise later.
Thomas Avant the freedom of expression
Thomas Avant Find the time if you're inspired to write. There is an audience for your ideas. Many can relate to your message.
Thomas Avant I don't have any immediate plans for a new book at this time. I plan to try to read more in 2021.
Thomas Avant I've always enjoyed reading and felt I had the ability to write, but I never was able to find the time to devote to the writing process. As someone who works full time in the public sector, my extracurricular time is very limited. I finally felt the motivation to find the time for this project. Writing is the best way to understand what we truly feel and believe. It's also a therapeutic process when forcing oneself to open up and be honest about our lives and our past.
Thomas Avant I've experienced the difficulties of dealing with narcissistic people throughout my life. As someone who's experienced narcissism in the workplace, at home, and in other aspects of my life and the greater society, I set out to learn more about the disorder and its effects on others. The book was also a memoir of sorts and a chance for me to tell my story and, hopefully, help others feel they are not alone when dealing with narcissism. The prevalence of narcissism in every aspect of society is quite staggering. While virtually everyone experiences narcissists in their lives, many know very little about the disorder. My hope is readers will gain a better sense for spotting this behavior and understanding the motivations of self-serving people.
