As a kid in the 80's, I used to write a lot of letters to people I didn't know but who I thought would probably want to know me, if only they knew me!
I wrote pages and pages and sent them all off into the world, 99% of the time I didn't get a reply and didn't really expect one.
As an adult I had a long term relationship with a musician who sometimes got fan mail. It was fascinating to see the other side of the story. All those letters do go somewhere, they might land on a managers desk, they might spend six months in a jiffy bag, they might go directly through someones door. They will get opened in the end and someone will read them...
