I try to! However, I find that my schedule shifts with the seasons. During the summer I tend to like to write in the afternoon when it's hot outside while in the winter I tend to do a lot of my writing in the evenings. I have two teenage boys who keep me pretty busy, so flexibility is a necessity! I do try to stick to a daily minimum word count, though, regardless of when I write.

I've come to realize writer's block is my brain's way of telling me there's something wrong with my plot or my story. I'm fortunate enough to have another writer in the family, so I talk out my plot with her when I get really stuck. Usually, by the time I've explained the problem, I've realized the solution.
Also, when I have a specific plot point that doesn't make sense, I meditate on it. All that means is I sit or lay down, close my eyes, and run through the problem in my mind with an "if this that then" mentality.
I take a little trip back to high school/college and make notes with actual pen and paper. It reminds me of simpler times, and the act of writing the words down seems to make them come alive for me in a way typing doesn't.

So many things!
1. Reaching readers with my creativity. There's nothing better than hearing one of my books made someone's life more enjoyable.
2. Going to work in my PJs because I don't answer to anyone but myself and my fans!
3. Being able to use the excuse of "research" whenever I need a day outside the house :)

Keep moving forward, and do not for one second believe there is a writer out there who isn't self-conscious about their work. Somewhere, there's someone who will be moved by your words. I've decided to choose to be grateful if I touch even one person with mine--that's enough validation to push me to continue to do what I love to do!

Currently, I'm working on the 7th of my "Mrs. Lillywhite Investigates" 1920's mystery series. I'm also developing a new series that will be set in America during the same time period.
