K.A. Hough The one I'm working on now (so far nameless), started with a dream I had about a frustrating, confusing phone conversation with my mother.

I woke up that morning, asking myself what I could have done (in my dream) for her to say what she had, and questioning whether there was anything that I had done lately in real life that could have created that dreamscape... which sparked the idea for my WIP, a woman struggling to understand why her family dynamic has shifted, and how much of it is her fault.

Of course, with my pantser inclinations, the plot has branched way out from there, and I'm putting a scifi angle on it, too...

Rumour has it, it will be released next year from Lights Out Ink, so keep your eyes open!
K.A. Hough As much as I hate, despise and cannot abide the idea of sequels, it's a sequel to Ground Control, not necessarily with the same characters (no spoilers here!), but in the same universe, where a burgeoning colony is growing on Mars, and there is conflict between the existing colonists and the new arrivals.

I sincerely believe that humanity is going to make the jump in the not-so-distant future, and no matter what, people are going to be people, whether they live on Earth or on an inhospitable planet. Some will be driven to create and to improve or adapt to a new world, but there will also be the very human traits of ambition, jealousy and loneliness to overcome.

I'll share little bits of it as it grows on my website and via social media.
K.A. Hough I actually have never struggled with writer's block. For me, if I'm writing, things just... happen... with my characters, and they do things and have adventures, reveal their pasts and secrets. They get into situations that become my problem to get them out of.

However, I do suffer (often) from "writing avoidance," which means I will do anything rather than type letters into my WIP. I find that deadlines help light the fire, though, so I encourage my publisher to breathe down my neck!
