So many ways - music, art, a news article, a feeling, another book, a quote, an image. Sometimes just the silence. Inspiration is everywhere, stories are everywhere, writers just have a tendency to take notice - at least, that's what Neil Gaiman says.

Write. Write. Write. Don't stop writing. Everything else is secondary because when it comes to it, what you write is what matters.

To see your ideas in print is both humbling and intensely exciting. Creating something from nothing is a wonderful gift.

I would visit Middle Earth of course - tea at Bag End, perhaps a spot of dinner with some dwarves, you know, fun stuff.

I had a close friend who one day just ghosted me and I always wondered why - that would make a nice cozy contemporary mystery. Perhaps the MC goes on the road to track their wayward friend down and in the process discovers some scandalous truths...!

Close it down and walk away. Do anything else for a little while - eat, dance, skip, whatever hobby you have outside of writing, do it. Usually, by the time you come back to it, the block will have eased. If not, write something else - ANYTHING else. Shopping lists, song lyrics, letters from one character to another, your character's inner thoughts, an unrelated scene, a scene you never plan on including. Just get those juices going.

I am busy editing Book 2 of the Reluctant Mates series (Beta) due for release in January 2022. I'm also editing an erotic novel called Healing Ophelia while trying to write Book 3 in the Reluctant Mates series (Gamma). It's all go, all the time!

During the first lockdown here in the UK, I was furloughed from my teaching job. Stuck at home with two small children and nowhere to go, I started reading lots of PNR online. What I noticed was more often than not the female lead was a sexually inexperienced teenager while her fated mate was an experienced Alpha male - and honestly, I got bored. I thought how amazing it would be to feature a strong, independent female character, one in charge of her own body and sexuality, one who isn't so easily swayed, so I wrote one!
