I didn't learn to read until I was 14 years old. I started to grasp what reading was around 11-12, but when I was 14 was when I feel I really could call my self a reader. I didn't really want to start learning to read until after my grandmother passed away when I was 12, and i wanted to learn to read because i wanted to write.

I got the idea for Fairywing from a nightmare I had about high school. I was 23 and still clearly had unresolved issue with my HS years. The dream was by far the most fantastical of high school nightmares I had thus far ,and started writing from there. Thank you for asking.
