Jayme Phelps Writers block for me is kind of weird. I've learned to recognize that if I can't keep writing it's because I forced my character to do something that they wouldn't do so I have to go back and figure out what that was. Typically if I allow my characters to make choices organically then the story will just kind of flow out onto the page.
Jayme Phelps Write! When you're first starting, try not to get too caught up in all the little details. Get the full story out regardless of how long or short it is. Then in your second draft add in all the small fun stuff or kick out anything that just doesn't push it forward.
Jayme Phelps I got the idea for my most recent book one day while I was having lunch. I wondered to myself about how far I would be willing to go to get something I truly wanted. Would I make a deal with the devil? And if I did what would that look like?
