The most effective way I have found to overcome writer's block is to not use the computer. If I try to use the computer to write, I get distracted and cannot think! There are so many other things that are easily accessible - email, my to-do list, college - so I make sure that I sit in front of real, old-fashioned paper when I write. It also really helps me to find inspiration when it is lacking. To do this, I read a book, listen to my favorite music, or watch a good movie. Doing something like that rarely fails to get my creative juices flowing again!
