I've just finished the manuscript for Gabby 3! I'd rather not give away any spoilers at this time, but I will say that our goal--apart from giving kids a story and characters they'll enjoy--is to build on the reader's phonics skills. In the first book we concentrated on smaller, easy-to-sound-out words. In the second book we used consonant blends. In the third book we'll be looking at "question words."
