Writer's block is something that every writer struggles with, from the student writing a term paper to the author working on his or her tenth novel. While writing Arrian's Lion, there were two three-month chunks of time where I didn't write at all, and honestly, that was probably the best thing for my writing. I was able to work through the plot holes and storyline far better with a fresh mind, and let's be real... sometimes we get sick of reading our own thoughts over and over again. Taking time away from my author self meant more time to develop ideas organically, which ultimately allowed my voice as an author to fill in any blanks.
