Terry Fisher I don't get writer's block very often. When I do, I try to distract myself for a while and then come back to my novel and imagine what's going to happen several chapters from now. Then I think about how we're going to get there. Another trick I've learned; I open a new document and keep writing, and I give myself permission to write something ugly and unrelating to my novel. And then I delete it. It tends to get my brain back in gear.
Terry Fisher The process. I get up and write very early with a cup (or two) of coffee and read what I wrote the day before. I enjoy the quiet "me-time" before the day begins. I don't think about anything else during those hours, other than the plot and story. I let my characters lead the way, and I just record their journey.
Terry Fisher Cain Lake #2. Our characters from book one were left beaten and dismayed. Someone has to make things right, so I guess it should be me. Cain Lake #2, Red-Devil, will follow our characters as they try to piece together what happened in book one and accept the outcome.
Terry Fisher Originally, Cain Lake was going to be about a glacial boulder in my hometown. The giant rock would have the power to augment a person's strongest fears and emotions and give them the courage to act. But I needed something more significant than a boulder if this were to be a series. Thus, Cain Lake was conceived. Now I could have people affected on all sides of the lake and hope their stories intermingled.
