Daisy Goudan Read, write other things (related shorts, character sketches, outlines, even just copywriting gigs to keep my fingers in typing shape), and don't beat myself up. If I've been staring at a blank page for more than an hour I go do something else for the day.
Daisy Goudan Editing, which is my least favorite, the next major installment. Also writing an extra long-short to fill in some gaps.
Daisy Goudan Honestly? I got angry. I got 1000000000 adds for "werewolf romance novels" in random "reading apps" on facebook one week... and ALL the snippets were full of rape. Like, they wouldn't know what consent was if it grabbed the by the tails and bit them in their furry little asses. So, I set out to write a werewolf romance novel where the heroine isn't raped, and found Vivian, tapping her foot, telling me to hurry up and write already.
Daisy Goudan Just write. Seriously. You probably won't love the first things you write, but you'll learn from them. (Are you a plotter, or a pantser? What sort of plotting do you like to use if you are one? What POV do you like to write from? Are you more productive in the morning or the evening? Drafts on your computer or paper or voice notes on your phone? At your desk or at a cafe with your laptop or on the beach/in a park with your notebook? Do you like Oxford commas, or hate them? Etc.)

Also, read things out loud to yourself when editing. Even if it makes you feel like a maniac. I guarantee you'll catch more mistakes that way.
