Ms. Jurczyk, would you be interested or available to attend a book club meeting sometime? We are a group of 12, 1 retired Librarian and 4 retired teachers/principals who have been meeting for over 20 years. We meet monthly for lunch or dinner at one of our houses. I would like for you to share your story with us, I will be reviewing the book at my host date April.

How do you get inspired to write?
Eva Jurczyk Usually from overhead conversations on the subway. I can't write about people I know well but I'm always jotting down the beginnings or endings of people's conversations while I'm sitting a few seats away from them on the way home. Free from any context, these make great inspiration.

What books are on your summer reading list this year?
Eva Jurczyk The Committed, by Viet Thanh Nguyen, Fake Accounts by Lauren Oyler, anything by Maggie O'Farrell and I'm going to attempt the mother of all summer reading projects, Anna Karenina.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Eva Jurczyk I worked in a rare books library when I was in graduate school and it was the most magical, mysterious place where I've ever spent time. I've been carrying it in my mind ever since, thinking about spinning a story set in those stacks.
