(view spoiler)[I just finished The Puma Years and moved me to tears! Loved your writing style, got me hooked the entire time… I was sad and not ready to let go of any of you!
Are you still in touch with the other volunteers? “Sammie”, “Jane”, “Harry”, “Dofl”? I keep thinking about all of you, and Mila and Agustino.
Would like to know how are the other animals doing? Ru? (hide spoiler)]

Hiya. I'm so happy that you enjoyed my book so much! I'm blown away by it. I am definitely still in touch with the other volunteers. It's hard to share an experience like that and not be friends for life! And the other animals are mostly good. Ru is the king of the sanctuary, still handsome as can be with the softest heart!

Hi Eliana. That's wonderful, thank you so much for buying, and for recommending to your friends. In answer to your question, I'm donating 75% of my profits from the book to CIWY, and already the money from the book has helped to fund the building of a new quarantine building in one of the sanctuaries! So definitely, every little bit helps and a proportion of every copy sold gets sent to the sanctuaries.

(view spoiler)[I have been a wildlife educator specializing in carnivore and human coexistence. Now, I am a member of Washington State’s Fish and Wildlife Commission, still working towards building acceptance and understanding for large carnivores including our native mountain lions, aka “pumas”. Your book is incredible! Lived in the American tropics for 4 years and felt I was back in the jungle. Next book? (hide spoiler)]

Thank you for your question! I'm working on the next one, but I'm find it hard to get my mind out of the jungle :) So we'll see, watch this space! Your work sounds amazing. I'd love to hear more about it.

Hello Janis, thank you so much for your question, and for your support! I'm so glad you enjoyed the book. I do still go and see Wayra! She gets older every year of course, but it's always amazing to see her. It feels like a gift every time.
I was last there March 2020, but haven't been back due to the pandemic, although I'm hoping to go back as soon as I can. The staff out there are kind enough to give me Wayra updates though :)) If you're interested, I'll be chatting to Nena - CIWY's co-founder and president - at the online book launch for THE PUMA YEARS on the 3rd June. Here's the link for tickets - it's free - if you're available. It would be great to see you there... we'll be chatting about Wayra, and the other residents :))

Going for a walk. Sitting by the stream by my little house and listening to the water burbling. Watching my dog, Nelo, make a nest. Playing Zelda, and trying to value the pleasure of these adventures. Having a bath. Watching Marvel films (so grateful for my current deep dive into the MCU). Talking to my dog about what I'm thinking often helps, too.

Hi Rebecca, thanks for reaching out! I'm so glad you're looking forward to reading my memoir. I hope you enjoy it! Whereabouts did you travel to in Bolivia? Did you get to go to the jungle?
ONCA definitely still supports the work of Comunidad Inti Wara Yassi, whenever and wherever we can. We try to share their story, and uplift their voices, as they care for rescued animals in Bolivia. The work that ONCA does has widened quite a lot since we started. Most of our work is UK-based, but this was our latest event, for example, supporting a collaboration of Indigenous artists and researchers, mapping environmental conflicts in N.E. Brazil and showcasing new work by indigenous artists: https://onca.org.uk/event/um-outro-ce...
