Deb D. Donohue I think the world is so complex that sometimes we get tangled up in the web of chaos when we are just trying to manage our daily lives. I love to walk and hike preferably in the mountains and regroup, breath in the fresh air, enjoy time away from standard day to day functions and let go of thoughts that prevent me from being present now. I also like to stop and enjoy something wonderful about something I see, like a beautiful, tree that has taken on an interesting shape, or an exquisite flower that I hadn't noticed before. Things like that clear my mind so that thoughts have room to flow.
Deb D. Donohue I can express myself artistically and hopefully reach people who love to read and who desire to be involved particularly in a way in which they can help each other. I can share my thoughts and experiences with others who also want to share.
Deb D. Donohue Make journals and notes of your thoughts and experiences every day so that you can use them to create a book that comes alive with feeling and compassion. I believe that people can identify with the things that you go through and things that you are seeing, feeling, living and dealing with. I hope that I am able to connect with people in that way as well as my writing skills improve. My best advice is that if you want to write, just do it! Don't be afraid. Everybody is a critic, but there will be many people out there who will appreciate your deepest thoughts and emotions because they identify with them. I am hoping to find those people as well!
Deb D. Donohue I am working on Book 2 of JD's Knight Angels which hopefully will be out by the end of the year. The 2nd book takes place in north-west Alaska where there is a tremendous amount of sex trafficking; the abduction of native Alaskans as well as native Canadians. The novel is quite different than the 1st book; The Missing, in that the 2nd book begins with a story about an Inupiat family living in a far northwest Alaskan village who will connect with my FBI task force team in surprising ways. The 1st book detailed my main characters and why and how they do what they do. My 2nd book moves them into exciting adventures as they get involved with some amazing people including descriptive and interesting detail of the Great North-West as they assist in taking down sex criminals.
Deb D. Donohue I have traveled around the country for many years and have many amazing experiences that I wanted to share. Combining these experiences in a novel with terrific, strong, compassionate characters who address a disturbing social problem has made me feel like I'm helping in many ways. I want to see more education in schools, organizations and from parents who may not realize how serious sex trafficking is and how vulnerable their children are. I also am hoping that more people will find ways to help the innocent victims; young girls, boys and women who were abducted.
Deb D. Donohue I have been seriously disturbed by the amount of sex trafficking in our country and wanted to find a way to help more people understand how colossal the problem is. Writing the book is my way of spreading the word. I created an adventurous fictional story based on real situations and events that occur every day. My hope is that people who like to read fiction suspense novels will find the subject matter interesting and may decide to get involved somehow in the fight against sex trafficking.
