Alexia Muelle-Rushbrook In the Name of the Flame can be read as a standalone, but is part of a duology (completed). Book two is A Storm of Frost and Flame.
Alexia Muelle-Rushbrook Good question! I'm not entirely sure where some of my ideas come from - one future project came to me in a dream! That said, the world, particularly the natural world inspires me. Certainly humanity’s relationship with nature formed the backbone of The Minority Rule.
Alexia Muelle-Rushbrook 'Beyond the Fence' and 'Into the Fog' (part two and three of The Minority Rule trilogy) are written and edited, so they will now be prepared for print. I'm also 3/4 through writing a paranormal fantasy.
Alexia Muelle-Rushbrook Just write. Don't let yourself or others tell you that you can't. You can. If you have a story, tell it - opening your mind and releasing that creativity is a joy and blessing.
And write it your way. Get that first draft out, then go back and edit rather than expect perfection immediately. Use a editor - regardless of experience, it's highly unlikely you'll spot all of your own errors because you are too close to the story.
But remember to write your story in your voice first and foremost.
Alexia Muelle-Rushbrook I love the escapism into another world.
Alexia Muelle-Rushbrook I walk the dogs! Sometimes, if the story just won't flow properly, the best remedy I've found is to step away from the keyboard and walk the dogs. The time with them, outside, more often than not seems to click my mind back into place.
