"As she went to hit 'save' on her completed first draft, a dialog box appeared on the screen. The words were a dagger to her heart: FATAL SYSTEM ERROR ALL WORK HAS BEEN LOST."
(P.S. This has happened to me before, although luckily I save obsessively, so I've only lost a few paragraphs or at most a page. It's still a horrible feeling!)

Write what you want to write. Write what you want to read. Buy a great keyboard, or a great pen, that will make you want to sit down and write every day. Stop reading what you're writing while you're still writing. Be kind to yourself: you can always edit later on. Shout to the world: "I am a writer!"

Through the wardrobe into Narnia, to have tea with Mr. Tumnus and then explore the snowy forests. Of course I'd be sure to take one of the coats from the wardrobe to keep me warm, just as the Pevensies did!
