I'd time travel to meet Jamie Fraser, even though I know their oral hygiene isn't on par with my expectations. I feel like I could push through that obstacle to hear him call me Sassenach. And I promise I wouldn't cause as much trouble as Claire, like he'd only get half the beatings because of me!

Usually, I spiral and question my worth as a writer, lots of dramatic wallowing where my husband has to slap me around like I'm in a boxing match. Then I go to therapy and my therapist does the same thing. Then one day, usually when the sun comes out, I just snap out of it and start writing again.
That, or there's a plot hole that's keeping me from moving forward. In that case, I ruminate on it for a few days and until I figure it out. Then sadly... I delete words and start fresh.

I'm constantly watching everything happen around me and have about 47 potential stories going on in my brain at the same time. It always starts with curiosity... like what if this is the guy hitting on the barista right now is her soulmate but she's currently dating the wrong guy?!?!?

Just sit down and put words on paper, don't worry about feeling silly. Pretend like you're the only one reading it and open yourself up. Tell the story and worry about all the prose, structure, and micro-details in your next draft.
