Priya Rajaram I have never been very social and books were always consistently my good friends. Writing is a lonely profession no doubt but I like to spend my writing hours with books - my old friends who make the profession much less lonely
Priya Rajaram Since writing is a job where we have to use our head and only our head - something else that occupies the real estate in your mind will act as a block in the way of words. Frankly I don’t allow myself much of luxury on this diversion as I completely turned around my lifestyle for being able to write and nothing more important than that is allowed to sit in my head for long. The only other important thing is my social enterprise which I run. I divide my time between these two passions.
Priya Rajaram I would go to Manderley and spend my time in its gardens reading from the large library, going after Jasper and listening to the sea.
Priya Rajaram Everyone who thinks in words is a writer and there is no age or best time to be one ! The best time and age is when you realize you HAVE to tell your story. Like they say - We definitely need more writers, artists and creative livers in this world.
Priya Rajaram I am currently on my line form novel and some more short stories. The novel is based on my life’s journey from a hard core consulting career to following my passion.
Priya Rajaram Nature, human behaviour and rare stories or mythology inspire me. I am at my best when I am around these elements. Observing people and chiseling characters out of them is one of my most interesting hobbies !
Priya Rajaram We all went through lockdown and it created innumerable changes in our lives - right from our homes to our equations with the people we inhabited our world with to work - basically to the world at large. The stories are woven around characters that I was actually privy to in some way or the other. I drew inspiration from loneliness, love, friendship, adaptability, loss and memories - the main emotions we fought and struggled with during lockdown.
Priya Rajaram Shantaram, midnight’s children, Anarchy, the catcher on the rye,
