There was a knock at the door, as she approached she wondered who it might be. She answered, and realized it would be the last time she would ever get the change.

Honestly, only that I get immense satisfaction and joy from it. For the pure and simple reason that it's been my favorite hobby since I knew it was a thing that existed. I've always done it for pleasure, and being able to do it as a profession is a dream.

Inspiration is a funny concept. It's great when you have it, but it never sticks around long enough to make anything worthwhile (at least not in my case). Writing is about practice and discipline. Just like becoming a bodybuilder isn't about being "in the mood" to workout. Find the time, make it happen.

When I don't know where a scene is going, I let my fingers type words that sometimes don't make sense, but it gets my brain working in a way that facilitates the action of creating. Once I'm on a roll, even if all I'm typing is "the dog is wet. The cat chases the dog around the tree..." at some point my brain will turn on and remind me of where I am in my story and where it needs to go.
When I'm really having a hard time deciding what should happen next, I ask myself not "what happens now," but "what could go wrong?"

My favorite advice is just to write. Just sit down, and do it. There will always be an excuse not to, but if it's your passion, and completing a book is a goal of yours, find the time and make it happen.

Currently, I'm working on promotion for my debut novel, Glow Girl! I'm so excited to release this book as it's been a passion project of mine for some time. In between social media posts and promotions, I am also working on my second book, a thriller about a woman who loses her fiance and struggles with her one true fear of being alone.

The book I'm currently working on is a thriller about a young woman who's in love with a man who doesn't notice her. She must bend herself to fit the mold of a woman he demands her to be and loses herself along the way. I came up with this idea (like I do most of my ideas) by pulling from pieces of my own history in love and relationships. I take a bit from here and a bit from there, piecing together the really juicy parts and letting my imagination fill in the gaps.
