Valerie Chamberlain Hi Shaylene! Only the Kindle version is appearing at the moment. Are you able to see that? I'm still waiting for KDP to make my paperback available. Unfortunately, there was a tiny issue with the spine (1/2 millimeter) which caused it to stay "in review". I had to email them twice to see what was going on, but I now am waiting on my revised cover to be approved. The adventures of a rookie author I guess! :) I keep watching for that status to change. It's like they say....."A watched pot never boils." Thanks for your interest!
Valerie Chamberlain I think one of the best things is being able to draw from your childhood and life experiences. It seems almost like journaling when you write something into your story that is part of a lived experience. A little piece of your history.
Valerie Chamberlain Don’t be in a rush. Writing takes time and so does every stage after the writing. Allowing enough time will ensure that you have an end result you are proud of!
Valerie Chamberlain I usually have more than one project on the go, so I can switch to something different for a little while if I find myself stuck.
Valerie Chamberlain Yes! Actually, I am working on a Christian novel for women. I’m not quite sure it would be classified as a romance but that element is certainly represented! I look forward to getting back to it but it might be awhile! 😊 Thanks for asking!
Valerie Chamberlain Definitely Narnia. I would go and have tea with the beavers. :)
Valerie Chamberlain I loved The Hiding Place (Corrie ten Boom) so I'd like to read In My Father's House, which is also about Corrie ten Boom. I understand it's the story of her growing up years before World War II. I'd also love to read something else by Carrie Turansky because I really enjoyed No Ocean Too Wide. I'd love to read the biography of Amy Carmichael as well.
Valerie Chamberlain I am writing the second book in the Becky Lawson Mystery series. It's entitled The Stone Fence Treasure. I'm excited to see where the story goes and can't wait to dig into that some more.
Valerie Chamberlain I think the thing that inspires me to write the most is READING! Reading fires up your own imagination and sparks new ideas. Life experience is wonderful material for writing, and I find that most of my writing stems from a tiny piece of a lived experience!
Valerie Chamberlain Galilee Bible Camp has been part of my life since I was a teenager and now my own children love to go there during the summer! The setting is definitely based on my recollections of time spent there, and in my mind that's where the characters are walking around. I went with a mystery because I was a huge Nancy Drew fan as a young girl!
