If you are looking for YA, I recommend the Atlantis Grail Series. It kept me entertained, and it was different from other "the world is ending" books. Also, The Testing is good, if you enjoyed Divergent.
Outside of YA and Gamelit, I am a huge fan of C.S. Forester's Horatio Hornblower series. The first one is Mr. Midshipman Hornblower.
