Many writers will go for a walk or go to the gym to clear their heads. I deal with writer's block a different way and it's a way I wouldn't recommend, but it works for me. I procrastinate, like a child avoiding any semblance of responsibility. I call it the George R. R. Martin method (that's a joke).
But in all actuality, getting words on paper is the best way to deal with writer's block. The words don't have to be good, and they don't have to be plentiful. Just pop the cork and let the bubbly flow.
