At times yes I did find it difficult, but I felt strongly that domestic violence was a topic that needed brought into the open. I hope that I have managed to create a story that informs and educates while highlighting the complexity of DV.

I like to write about the things that no one really wants to write about, like domestic violence. I like the challenge of weaving and creating a story that is fictional, yet educational. Once I feel passionate about a topic, something takes over and writing feels natural. I read and research as much as possible to keep myself inspired.

Write one sentence at a time and write as if no one is ever going to read your story. Write how YOU write, not how you think others want you to. That way you will have a genuine story that is full of real emotion, and what more could a reader want?

Receiving positive feedback from a stranger is an amazing feeling and makes the late nights and long hours all worth while.

I take a break from writing and go for a walk. Sometimes just getting a breath of fresh air and being outdoors is all I need to get past it.
