H.I. Yates If you have an idea, start writing and see where the words take you. After you're done writing your story, then go back and make the necessary changes. If you want to publish, be open to the series of edits your manuscript will go through to ensure it has the impact you want. The process is a lot of work, but worth it! If you truly want to write and share your work with the world, remember to make decisions that keep you moving forward. I also have to say that the first time you hold a physical copy of your book, it is such an amazing experience! All that time, effort, motivation, determination, and belief in yourself to get to that moment, is an experience to appreciate and embrace in your heart forever.
H.I. Yates I wanted to use my experience to inspire others to know their value, emotionally heal, realize their capacity to manage and overcome adversities, and acknowledge their ability to create the life they want to live. I got the idea to use poetry and art in addition to narratives because it makes the book more engaging. Poetry is powerful and art is great for showing an experience and conveying emotions without words.
H.I. Yates I'm working with a non-profit organization to create a workbook and a series of videos that focus on shifting from hearing the inner-critic to hearing and listening to the inner-advocate more. This project is for guiding the youth to have more positive views of themselves and empowering thoughts.
