I'll give the same advice I've seen in other places...I'm not sure who it originated with, so I can't quote them, but...
Write a story that you enjoy. Something that makes you smile and brings joy to your heart. That's the first step. When you are ready to share it with others, then find someone you trust to read it who can then give you feedback and help you decide if you would/should refine it to make it consumable for a wider audience.
