Kerry Shatzer I've been really behind reading books, especially from series I've loved for a long time. I hope to start catching up to the Pendergrast series by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child, plus they've recently started a new series featuring Nora Kelly from some of their previous books. Great series of thrilling dark mystery and murder and dective work. I think I'm five books behind now from them alone! Then the Steven Saylor series with Gordianus the Finder, a detective series set in ancient Rome, is another great series I'm behind on. Those alone should keep me busy for a few summers at least!
Kerry Shatzer I just self-published my first book through Amazon. It's a word search puzzle collection called "Diversions". I've enjoyed puzzles for years and had a few in some print magazines here and there, but never really considered doing my own entire book. I had a request for some mazes from another puzzle book creator (Charles Timmerman from Funster who makes a lot of great puzzle books) and 5 were included in one of his books. Then when Covid hit I was suddenly unemployed and had a lot more time on my hands than usual! So I decided to go for it. If I was never laid off I'm not sure I ever would have found the time to do it! Plus I thought a word search collection might help other people like me who were laid off because of the pandemic and needed something to keep them challenged for awhile.
Kerry Shatzer I just recently self-published my very first book through Amazon. It's a word search puzzle collection called "Diversions", but with a more personal touch than most puzzle books. I'm planning a whole series of Diversions books, so I'll probably concurrently work on another word search collection, a maze book, and another kind of puzzle that's a surprise for now!
Kerry Shatzer Anyone remember "The Last of the Really Great Whangdoodles" by Julie Andrews Edwards? I loved that book as a kid. That would be such a fun place to visit! I would probably never want to leave!
