This will probably be a surprise to most people but I've become consumed with historical non-fiction centering around southern Europe, particularly Italy. It's so interesting to me how much influence the Church had over all things - art, architecture, wars and the flow of money & power. I would love to visit but I'm pretty sure I would then love to come back to the modern comforts and freedoms that I enjoy today!

Currently I'm working on the sales and marketing of my book. It's a challenge these days because (at least in Canada) bookstores haven't yet started up author-signings again.... Really, that's the BEST way to get attention and boost sales. While waiting for that day to return I've been trying to work the social media circles and I've recently come up with an idea for IG & FB that I hope will catch on; follow my author page on IG @suemarko_author to see the fun pics from my years of hosting the public!

The freedom of time. Sometimes I feel like writing but sometimes, when I feel like writing, it's successful and sometimes it's not so it's nice to have the freedom to close the laptop, walk away and come back another time.

I don't have a particular favorite genre so my "to read" list doesn't really exist. Because I have so many personal interests (culinary, sports, travel, fashion... ) as well as a wide variety of reading interests (thrillers, memoirs, feel-good-chick-stuff, humor...) I don't plan on reading any book but, rather, just pick the one that appeals at the moment of my search. I'm just finishing a book about an unlikely trio of women on a road trip together, and I just picked my next book which is a murder-mystery.

It was therapy for me! I would have a terrible experience and felt like I needed to purge it so to do so I would (usually pour a large glass of wine,) sit down at my computer and just bang it out there. In the beginning I would email them out to a few friends and they would frequently tell me that I should really write a book! I soon stopped emailing them out and just filed the stories away in my computer where they would sit until 3 years after I sold the lodge and decided to look into publishing some of the stories.
