I am actually in the beginning stages of writing a first chapter book for children ages 7-10. I is a compliment to The Body Joyful. My hope is the book captures where some of our thoughts about ourselves come from, so children can have another perspective to "see" about themselves...

Props to Nancy Aronie, and her workshops Writing from the Heart. I have been to her program twice and each time left more and more eager to write and share my thoughts with the world.

I commit to morning pages! When I am in the midst of writers block, going back to just doing stream of conscience writing. It is inevitable that within a couple days, the creative juices start to flow again.

After struggling with my own weight, negative body image and degrading self talk for much of my life...I realized how much I had missed. Missed time enjoying my daughters birthday parties, family gatherings, conversations with friends, and even days, weeks and months of my life, because I was absorbed in my head.
Over 90% of my head space was counting calories, adding, subtracting, planning exercise, planning foods I wasn't going to eat. I finally found myself lying in a hospital bed, to actually have my leg broken, so I could continue to pound on it when I stopped. Enough was enough. I had to find a different...healthier way to live my life.
Thus, off to school I want to get my graduate certificate in Eating Disorders...and the rest is history. I decided to document not only my spiral into self-destruction and self-loathing, but also my climb back out to find self-acceptance and self-respect. That is what this book is all about.
