Tracy Lee Thompson Pick The Wildflowers came from a dream. An elderly man named Toby Mitchell was narrating his life. In this dream, I saw visuals in colour and felt the atmosphere as if I was there.
Over time, the dream came back, and when it did, it continued on exactly where it had left off. It was as if someone had pressed the play button to view a movie.
The dreams came to me over a period of three months.
Tracy Lee Thompson Sometimes I dream about my characters, then sometimes they just pop up into my head. For months they can survive in my head and then the story just comes from that. Sometimes all it takes is hearing a certain song in a shopping center - on YouTube etc., and then the character comes to life. I do not write until I know the full story line. Once I have that then I make sure I write everyday until I have the first draft down.
Tracy Lee Thompson My second novel, Follow The Stars. It is in the editing stages and I am totally in love with this book. It's funny and sad. Every time I get to a certain part in the story, I always cry.
Tracy Lee Thompson Keep writing no matter what. You will have people who will doubt you, mock you for wanting to be an author, but then again, there are those who will cheer you on from the sidelines and be joyful for all you achieve.
Tracy Lee Thompson Being able to create a world full of wonderful characters. The fact that you make them breath, love and experience things as if they were real people. It's wonderful. I love being an author.
