My advice is to set aside a bit of time each day for writing, even if it's only 20 minutes. Make it a habit, like flossing. Skimming writing sites, attending conferences, and listening to podcasts about writing/publishing may be helpful, but none of those activities are writing. Writing is what makes you a writer.
Paula Johnson I majored in journalism in college and have been a copywriter for decades, so being blocked has never been an option. I do sometimes let a project rest for a bit while I work on another story. Then I can return to the first story with fresh eyes.
