Strange you should ask that. Two very close friends who nagged me continuously to write the book, hypnotherapist Sharon Fernandes and fashion designer Wendell Rodricks both died before the book could be completed. I suffered a six-month writer's block after Sharon's death and another six-month block after Wendell's death. But both writing paralyses passed and I completed "I'm Old, I'm Wise & I Know My Sh*t".
I completed the first draft of my next book in June 2021, sent it out to 15 people for their criticism. Here too, author, artist, animation film maker, cartoonist Gautam Benegal who demanded to do the illustrations of my book, died while reading the first draft. He died in July 2021. This is October 2021. I still cannot work on the second draft of my memoirs.
You cannot "deal" with writer's block, because while you can write on social media, you cannot touch your serious writing. You just have to wait it out.Writer's block will go. But it will take its time.

Don't trust your first draft. After completing it, set it aside for three months. Then read it and re-work all the parts that make you cringe. Maybe ever rewrite the entire manuscript. I did 21 rewrites, until I have pleased with the shape of the book, the partitioning of it and the overall tone.

Twenty years ago I ended a seven-year stint as agony aunt. I used to send police and women's groups to help out the more serious cases. Over the years I find the same problems and a few newer scary ones still create victims whose lives are without hope. All they needed was a sane voice telling them how they could pull themselves out of a relationship mess. This book practically wrote itself.

I am currently working on my first set of memoirs. I have been used as a plaything by the Universe and my life has been one of high adventure and small miracles. Most of them hilarious. My first set of memoirs is Goa-based. My second set will be Bombay and Hindi film industry based.
