I was thinking about those people that work every day of their lives and feel stuck at jobs they hate. I took my main character Joan, and gave her choices and options. Sometimes people feel like they have invested too much of themselves to make an abrupt change. I wanted this character to also show that it isn't too late to pursue interests and dreams.

I have read more in the last 4 years than I have in my entire life. My boyfriend encouraged me to start writing. He gave me the confidence and tools to write so I couldn't refuse. I started thinking about all the authors and their books. I have read more books by Brenda Novak than any other author. I feel that she has inspired me with the stories she has shared about her life and I'am a member of her online book group. The books I have read by her made it seem possible for me to write one too.

I'm currently working on a suspense book. It's about two best friends that travel to Maine to go to college. This is all I can really say right now.

I think it is fulfilling and rewarding. Writing is an individual creation that can take a lot of time and effort. It sometimes takes more hours in the day than I have worked at other jobs. When you see your name on a book knowing you accomplished it yourself, and people genuinely loved the book. I think that makes it all worth it.

I change my environment. I go somewhere and look at the scenery. I talk to my family and see if it strikes any ideas. I sometimes clear my mind of it and sit down and watch a movie or play a game with my daughter then the idea comes to me out of thin air..lol
